On October 7th and
8th the Central Washington Chapter hosted the second Antigua Cup.
The professionals and amateurs competing in the event were selected from the
2007 Central Washington Chapter / Les Schwab Pro-Am Series. The dividing line
for the competition was the I-90 Highway. The top six professionals and amateurs
from North of I-90 were matched against the top six professionals and amateurs
from South of I-90.
The competition was intense with the
Mike Eslik led North side getting out to an early lead over the Bill Rosholt led
South team. After the first day’s fourball matches the North team led the South
4-2. After the Monday morning Chapman matches the North team extended their
lead to 8-4. The final singles matches resulted in an overall victory for the
North with a final score of 13-8.
A great time was had by all and we
look forward to the 2008 Antigua Cup. We would like to thank the event sponsors
Antigua
, Hogue Cellars and Moses Pointe Golf
Course. Thanks to their support the event was a great success.

On April 1 &
2, the Central Washington Chapter hosted the First Annual
Antigua Cup. The professionals and amateurs competing in the
event were selected from the 2006 Central Washington Chapter
/ Les Pro-Am Series. The dividing line for the competition
was the I-90 Highway. The top six professionals and amateurs
from North of I-90 were matched against the top six
professionals and amateurs from South of I-90. Antigua was
the title sponsor for the event, providing hats, shirts and
outerwear for the qualifiers. The list of sponsors also
featured the Crazy Moose Casino, Bernard Griffin Winery and
Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
As the results (attached) indicate, the competition was
extremely close, score tied after the first two sessions of
the competition. The competition actually was not decided
until the final two matches came to the eighteenth hole.
The Central Washington Chapter is extremely proud to have
brought the event back to life. It is an opportunity to
reward the professionals and amateurs that support all of us
throughout the season. Hopefully the event will encourage
all of the pro-am competitors to increase their
participation in future events. Congratulations to those who
qualified for the event.
